What an awesome day we had last Friday, attending a wedding workshop, run by Natasha and Deon du Preez. The location of the workshop was the Olive Mystery wedding venue, situated close to Bapsfontein.

Natasha and Deon have such a natural and relaxed approach to their style of wedding photography. And as a team, they also compliment each other beautifully. I love the way they interact and communicate with a bride, and / or bridal couple. We learned so much and had lots of fun & time to take beautiful pictures of our models. They were dressed in the most stunning dresses from Papilio and Immagika.

Dillon Gray - Some great photography work Gavin!

A beautiful sunny winter’s day on the Highveld makes for great family photographs.  We decided to post a few family photos again as Jordan has grown so much and he  is on the verge of sitting up by himself.  What a wonderful gift he has been to our family.  We are so blessed to have three wonderful sons and the two older brothers are wonderful helpers.

Gavin Blok - Thank you Stella 🙂

We had such a great time with Zodwa & Bruce when we went to Durban two weeks ago.  They are an awesome couple, very in love and enjoyed being photographed.

Here below is a few more photographs of our shoot, taken on the Monday morning early at Brighton Beach.

Zodwa Majola - Being immersed in water was lovely. We were determined to just have fun. It was wonderful. The pictures exude warmth and love. We found each other’s soulmate and what a grand entrance it is into our lifelong journey. My husband can’t decide on a specific photo to frame as they are all so beautiful. 🙂

Shortly after Zodwa & Bruce’s wedding we got a call from Bruce, asking us when we’ll be going to Durban again to do our next Trash The Dress shoot at the beach?  He asked because they loved our photos from last year and really wanted us to do the same for them, hopefully some time soon.  I said to Bruce that we might not make it this year because of the 2010 Soccer Word Cup and that it would be almost impossible to afford, or even find accommodation in Durban over that period.

Then on the spur of the moment we decided to take advantage of the long weekend ahead (24th till 28 April) and hit the to road Durban.  So, only a few hours after Bruce’s first call, we called him back to ask if they would like to go to Durban and if they could make it for the long weekend – as we would love to use this opportunity to photograph them at the beach.

We did not wait very long for Bruce to call us back.  Zodwa was so excited about the shoot and she said yes, immediately!

So, here below is a few photos of our first day’s shoot at the beach in Ballito and in a sugar cane field close to Stanger along the north coast of Kwazulu Natal.  Enjoy 🙂

Zodwa and Bruce’s wedding was on the 13th of March at Villa Toscana.  Zodwa looked stunning in her white wedding dress and Bruce looked very handsome in his off-white suit.  He changed into a dark suit just before they entered the reception.  They are a very special couple and we loved being part of their special day.  Below is some pictures of the wedding.
